About Us

Ernest Thwaite is a senior mortgage and commercial adviser who owns our Challock office. Ernie has over 30 years of financial services and property experience running his own company to call upon.

Known for his approachability and client focused manner, Ernie has taken a new route to mortgages and created The Mortgage Box in 2014 to provide the advice and service that one to one contact and transparency has helped developed a client bank that is managed regularly at whatever stage his clients are at to reverse the frustrating experience he has received himself in the past.

Ernie has an excellent reputation for communicating well with his clients and being thorough giving tailored independent advice to make sure the transaction goes through quickly and efficiently.

Outside interest for Ernie is an avid reader and enjoys sports looking after his chickens and various animals based at The Mortgage Box office in Kent and a keen vegetable gardener.

Iuliana originally joined The Mortgage Box in January 2019 heading up to be part of the Protection and Mortgage Team. The part she loves most about her job is that she thrives on helping people.

Iuliana was born in Romania but she has dedicated almost 15 years of her work experience across Kent. Her style is to work collaboratively with clients and other parties involved to ensure transactions are concluded as smoothly as possible.

When Iuliana is not working, she is running around after her very energetic son which is both fun and challenging. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, socialising or taking holidays abroad which include the new member of their family - Jack, a lovely yorkie.  Iuliana spends all other spare time cleaning or shopping  - SHE LOVES SHOPPING !!!

Ross is our newest young rising star here at The Mortgage Box!

He began his career working in sales for more than 11 years  where he gained a wealth of customer service experience and worked his way up to be a manager.

His primary focus is on simplifying the mortgage process for his clients whereby he understands the client's needs to secure the best possible terms with a lending structure that meets their financial requirements.

Ross sees his role as being able to take some of the stress out of the process and has built a willingness to take great care of the people he is dealing with and he is always prepared to go that extra mile that makes so much difference .

 Ross would say the part of his job he enjoys the very most is helping his clients to pave their future through professional financial advice, and by making it an easy, effortless and comfortable process from start to finish.

Ross has a great personality , very friendly and with a great sense of humour so we have no doubt that all who deal with him will come away with a smile on their face !

Outside work Ross enjoys his favourite sport Golf, watching and playing. His weekend usually consists of following his beloved football team Arsenal FC trying to claim their first premier league title since 2004 (work in progress).

Eric is a Senior Mortgage and protection advisor with experience working in 2 of the countries leading mortgage broking firms.  Now self-employed and working in The Mortgage Box he has access to a comprehensive lender panel offering 1000’s of products to his client bank.  This means Eric can always source the right product to suit your needs perfectly, this can be sourced quickly & efficiently offering a smooth service with excellent customer care always at the heart of the solution.

Eric specialises in all products Residential and BTL and always pays particular attention to offering a ‘right fit’ protection solutions in the form of Life Cover, Critical Illness Cover & Income protection making sure you keep the keys to your house if something unexpected were to happen.

Outside the office Eric is very keen sportsman recently taking part in the London marathon and not quite beating Mo Farah!! Aside from competitive running Eric is a keen gym goer & passionate about all things food related.

She is Ernie’s dog, a lovely dotted dalmatian , she joined The Mortgage Box before there was an office or a team. She is over 3 years old and loves to spend most of her day in the office sleeping, eating and again sleeping on her armchair. Outside of work, she is chasing the squirrels in the garden ( she’s still practising on how to win this race) and when she goes inside the house, guess what : time for more sleep! Hard life what we can say !
